Water assisted liposuction is the newest innovation in liposuction. It is performed under tumescent anesthesia (the fluid placed in the area of liposuction contains numbing medication). Fluid is placed in the area of sculpting using a strawlike cannula. Fat is then removed using a cannula that has a jet sprayer at it's tip. The jet spray of fluid loosens the fat so that it can be suctioned less traumatically. The fat that is removed can then be transferred to other parts of the body. Imagine taking unwanted fat from your thighs or belly and transferring to your face.
